Tim's Christmas Program
We were delighted to see Tim in his Christmas program at Messiah! As a first grader he had a speaking line and Tim let us know it was a BIG deal. It's so awesome to see him share the love of Christ at such a young age. We are so thankful for the ministry of Messiah Lutheran School.

Alexis
Alexis hung with the boys while they rode their bikes. She didn't want to ride hers, she wanted to run around and chase them!
Family Party for the Boys
We were blessed (cursed?) with amazing weather on the day of the boys' party! It was almost 60 outside! However, that also caused some nasty thunderstorms and tornados. Lucky for us, we were safe (even though we dashed to the basement once before the party started). We sang to each of the boys so they could both feel special at their party.
Happy 6th Birthday, Tim!
WOW! 6 already!!!??! Tim's 6th birthday was a blast! He requested spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and a white cake, with white icing, and blue balloons. He even helped make it all! Tim, too, got a new bike for his birthday - one with hand-brakes!
Bouncing
We went bouncing while Sara and Kian were in town on Tim's birthday! We had a blast! The best part was that the moms could bounce, too! We even met up with Erin, Jimmy, Noah, and Lucy! We all piled up on the slide and went down together!
Happy 3rd Birthday, Ben!
We love you buddy! Happy 3rd birthday! Ben wanted a lemon cake with strawberries, so this is what we made. It had home-made cream cheese icing that was yummy! Ben was super excited to get his very own big boy bike for his birthday gift! His dinner request was chicken and chicken bone (stuffing).
Christmas at the Adams' House
We finished our day by heading to Grandma and Grandpa Adams' house. We had a great dinner (Joe was thankful we brought home leftovers) and great company. We hung out with Uncle Derick and Aunt Kate most of the day. Aunt Kate gave us cookies, and Alexis was determined to carry them around all day, constantly trying to get into the bag and eat them!
Tim's Lego Train
Grandma and Grandpa Koenig got Tim a lego train for Christmas! We spent most of the afternoon puting it all together!
Christmas at the Koenig's
Later Christmas morning, we headed to grandma and grandpa Koenig's house. We had fun, even though we were a family member short with daddy at home.
Daddy Opening Gifts
Even though daddy said the kids gave him a great present by sleeping in on Christmas morning, he still had gifts to open! Ben and Tim were watching carefully to make sure he opened them fast enough! This was when Daddy was still feeling ok, by 10am he was down with the flu :(
Ben's Chuggington Trains!
All Ben wanted for Christmas was a Chuggington track and trains! He was so excited to have some on Christmas morning!
Tim's Gingerbread House
Tim made his gingerbread house with daddy this year (mommy was sick with the stomach flu - YUCK!). He worked hard and made it look just like the picture on the box! I was so proud of him for doing it himself!!!
Ben's Gingerbread House
Ben did an awesome job making his gingerbread house! What a blast! He put all of the candy on himself and knew what color he wanted and where. He even decorated his very own tree to go with the house!
Tim's Christmas Program
We managed to get Tim's Christmas Program in (the ice storm came during the program!) and wow! They did great! Tim followed along and did a great job singing and doing the actions! We were very proud of him!
Ben's Build-a-Bear
Ben had never made a build-a-bear before, and we figured it was time he did! We took him for a special day and let him pick out a bear that was just for him! He chose a blue bear and dressed him up in a buzz lightyear costume! He loves his bear!
Happy 30th Birthday, Joe!
For Joe's birthday, we had a 'choose your own adventure' day. We started by figuring out where we would head for the day. Joe, naturally, cheated! He couldn't stand not knowing what the other choices were! In the end, he chose to head out to Elephant Rock State Park. We had a blast! We even took Sydney. I think we all needed some cheering up after losing Morgan just days before. We explored the park for a few hours, climbed around on the rocks, and even saw the old train shed. We got lunch on the way home, and ended up not being hungry for dinner. We went out for ice cream at Deters later that night to finish our celebration!
Saying Goodbye to Morgan
On November 12, we said goodbye to our sweet dog, Morgan. We never saw it coming, which made it even more difficult to say goodbye. Our first 'baby' is gone and our whole house seems different. I miss him sleeping on my feet and curling up around my head, snuggling in the morning. He protected us all, guarding the babies and letting us know if something was wrong. He saw me through some of the hardest times I've ever been through, and I miss him more than words can say. We love you, Morgie.
Halloween
All three on Halloween! They had a blast! Both sets of grandparents and Uncle Derick and Aunt Kate came over. We went up and down the street and stayed out as long as we could. Tim wasn't feeling well, and soon enough we were back home. In the end, we took Tim to the ER. Poor kiddo had pneumonia :(
Carving Pumpkins
This year was the first year that Ben could really help carve pumpkins! We had a blast! We made guesses about what was inside the pumpkin - Ben's guess was beans and juice! He was excited to open his pumpkin up and see what was really inside! "Yucky, slimy stuff is inside the pumpkin, mom!""
Trick-or-Trunk
We attended Trick-or-Trunk for the first time this year at Messiah. We had a great time! Tim was dressed as a firefighter, Ben as Buzz Lightyear, and Alexis as a Nebraska Cheerleader (GO BIG RED!). The kids went from trunck to trunck collecting candy! In the end their baskets were full and we made plans to go back next year!
Halloween House
Tim made his very own Halloween House. He did it all, from icing to candy! He was very specific about what he wanted! It turned out great!
Happy Birthday, Jill!
We helped Jill celebrate her 6th birthday by heading to the St. Louis Zoo! We had a blast and really enjoyed our day! We even helped her make a special build-a-bear zoo friend for her birthday gift! Happy Birthday, Jill!
Tim's Teddy Bear
For Kindergarten, Tim was supposed to bring in a teddy bear for 'teddy bear day' with Mr. T. Tim and I looked all over the house and had a hard time finding that 'perfect' bear. After school on the night before Teddy Bear Day, we took him on a surprise trip to Build-a-Bear. He build his very own bear and named him "Survivor The Bear" (after Survivor Man, his second favorite show only to Dirty Jobs). He had a blast and couldn't wait to bring his bear to school the next day!
